About this collection
What are floral waters & natural distillates?
Natural Distillates — commonly known as floral waters or hydrosols — were once considered mere byproducts of essential oil distillation. Today, they are recognised as valuable co-products in their own right. Produced through the same steam distillation process as essential oils, hydrosols capture the water-soluble aromatic compounds of the plant at a gentle, diluted concentration of less than 1%.
Unlike essential oils, hydrosols do not require dilution before skin application, making them ideal for rinse-free products, facial toners, mists, and sensitive skin formulations. They are also widely used in the food and beverage industry as natural flavouring agents — particularly rose water, kewra water, and orange blossom water in South Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
AG Organica is recognised as one of India's leading manufacturers and suppliers of 100% organic, steam-distilled floral waters. Each batch is produced in Kannauj, fully documented with COA and MSDS, and available in quantities from 1 kg to bulk drum supply.

Chat with our teamWhat is floral water or hydrosol?
Floral waters — also called hydrosols or natural distillates — are the aqueous co-products of steam distillation of plants and herbs. They contain trace essential oil droplets and water-soluble plant compounds at less than 1% concentration. This makes them gentler than essential oils and suitable for direct skin application without dilution.
What is the MOQ for bulk floral water orders?
MOQs start at 1 kg for most floral water SKUs. For commercial buyers, we offer 5 kg, 10 kg, and 25 kg drum quantities with volume pricing. Contact our export team for a tailored quote based on your specific product mix and volume requirements.
What are the main uses of floral waters in cosmetics?
Floral waters are used as the water phase in lotions and creams, as standalone facial toners and mists, in shampoos and conditioners, as base for baby care products, and as active ingredients in natural cosmetic formulations. They bring botanical actives directly into water-based products without the need for emulsification.
Are your floral waters suitable for food and beverage use?
Yes. Rose water, kewra water, orange blossom water, peppermint water, and lemongrass water are available in FSSAI-compliant food-grade specification. These are widely used by food manufacturers, confectionery producers, and beverage brands. Full food safety documentation is supplied with each shipment.
Do you provide private label floral water products?
Yes. We offer complete private label services: custom formulation (single or blended hydrosols), glass or PET bottle selection, label design and printing, tamper-evident closures, and branded outer cartons. Minimum quantities per label run typically start at 100 units per SKU.
How are floral waters packaged for export?
Hydrosols are packed in food-grade HDPE containers (1–5 kg), high-density polyethylene drums (10–25 kg), or glass bottles for premium/sample quantities. All packaging is food-safe and sealed for air and sea freight. We provide export documentation including phytosanitary certificates and country of origin certificates.
India's natural distillate production heritage
India has produced floral waters commercially since the Mughal period — rose water in particular has been manufactured in Kannauj for centuries using the traditional deg-bhapka copper distillation method. AG Organica combines this heritage with modern steam distillation and GC-MS batch testing to supply global markets with consistent, traceable hydrosols at commercial volumes.
As a direct manufacturer — not a broker or trader — we offer first-distillate pricing, custom extraction scheduling, and full batch traceability from raw botanical to final packaged product.
Documentation for global cosmetics compliance
Every hydrosol we supply comes with: Certificate of Analysis (pH, specific gravity, microbial count, aromatic profile), Material Safety Data Sheet, country of origin certificate, and INCI name documentation. For cosmetic buyers in the EU and UK, we provide REACH-aligned safety data. For US buyers, we provide FDA facility information and Prop 65 compliance notes where applicable.
Organic-certified batches additionally carry USDA Organic and ECOCERT documentation — essential for COSMOS-certified natural cosmetic product claims.
