Essential oils, compounds extracted from plants, have been in use for thousands of years for health, medicinal, and aromatic purposes. With around a hundred essential oils available today, each one carries a distinct flavor and scent of the plant, from which it is extracted. Used commonly as a part of aromatherapy, the oils are either inhaled directly or rubbed on the skin after being diluted. The oils are known to treat various health problems like stress, depression, anxiety, sleep, headaches, insomnia, and reducing inflammation among others. Also, these are used as a natural scent in homemade cosmetics or to freshen things like laundry. AG Industries is the leading manufacturer & supplier of organic essential oils made through the process of steam/water distillation. To deliver true essential oils to the market, we use concentrated plant extracts without the application of any chemical process. We also deploy proven methods for activities like processing, packaging, and delivery. Our wide range of pure essential oils including Lavender oil, rosemary oil, lime oil, lemon oil, orange oil, and others are available at reasonable rates. We are the leading supplier of essential oils.

Chemical Composition

Key Aromatic Constituents in Our Absolute Range

Absolute oils contain the complete aromatic fingerprint of their botanical source — far more complex than distilled oils. These are the signature compounds defining each absolute.

Rose Absolute
  • Citronellol (18–35%)
    Primary rosy-floral contributor — soft, sweet, geranium-like
  • Geraniol (10–22%)
    Rose-citrus character; also a skin-conditioning active
  • Nonadecane (8–18%)
Waxy rose note — key fixative in absolute vs Otto
  • Phenylethyl Alcohol
    Classic honey-rose sweetness; partially solvent-extracted
Jasmine Absolute
  • Benzyl Acetate (18–26%)
Key sweet-floral jasmine ester — intensely diffusive
  • Phytol (10–16%)
Waxy, slightly floral — improves tenacity and longevity
  • cis-Jasmone (3–6%)
The defining "jasmine" impact molecule — fruity-floral
  • Benzyl Benzoate
Balsamic fixative — extends floral note duration on skin
Geranium Absolute
  • Citronellol (28–40%)
Rosy-citrus backbone — softer and rounder than the EO
  • Geraniol (14–20%)
Fresh floral note with rose-lemony character
  • Linalool (6–12%)
Soft lavender-floral bridge note — calming effect
  • Isomenthone (4–8%)
    Minty-green freshness unique to Pelargonium
White Lotus Absolute
  • Benzyl Alcohol
    Clean, slightly sweet, almond-like note
  • Nonanol / Nonanal
Waxy, aquatic green note — the signature lotus character
  • Linalool
    Soft floral-lavender bridge note
  • Eugenol
Warm spicy depth note — adds oriental complexity
Why Choose Absolutes?

The Case for Absolute Oils in Fine Fragrance & Luxury Cosmetics

The most demanding applications demand the most complex, authentic raw materials. Here's why absolutes are irreplaceable.

🌹
True-to-Flower Aroma
Solvent extraction captures aromatic compounds destroyed by heat — delivering a scent profile closest to the living flower.
🎯
Unmatched Tenacity
Absolute oils contain wax esters and high-molecular-weight compounds that dramatically extend longevity on skin and fabric.
💡
Superior Diffusion
Ultra-concentrated — a few drops of absolute creates a powerful olfactory impact that would require much larger volumes of essential oil.
🧴
Luxury Cosmetic Active
Rose and Jasmine absolutes are recognised skin-actives with proven hydration, soothing, and anti-inflammatory benefits beyond their aroma.
📋
Full Documentation
COA, GC-MS report, solvent residue test, MSDS, IFRA declaration, and allergen list provided with every shipment — always.
🏆
Perfumery Heritage
Jasmine and Rose absolutes from India are recognised globally as among the finest available — our sourcing relationships ensure this quality.
🌍
Global Regulatory Ready
All absolutes supplied with IFRA compliance declarations for use categories, EU allergen labelling lists, and REACH documentation for European imports.
🔬
Custom Dilutions
Absolutes can be supplied pre-diluted in Ethanol or Jojoba at your required concentration (5%, 10%, 20%) for ease of formulation blending.
Application Guide

How to Use Absolute Oils

🧪
Fine Fragrance — 0.5–5%
Use in alcohol-based parfum, EDP, and EDT at 0.5–5% for dramatic impact. Pre-dilute 10% in ethanol for ease of weighing and blending.
RoseJasmineWhite Lotus
🧴
Skincare — 0.01–0.5%
Add at trace levels (0.01–0.5%) to face serums, creams, and body oils. Maintain IFRA use-category limits for leave-on products. Check allergen labelling requirements.
RoseLavenderGeranium
🕯️
Candles — 0.1–1%
Incorporate at 0.1–1% into fragrance blend before mixing with wax. Absolutes add authentic floral depth that synthetic fragrance oils cannot replicate.
JasmineRoseGeranium
🛁
Bath & Body — 0.1–2%
Add to bath salts, body oils, and soap at 0.1–2%. Check IFRA Category 9 limits for rinse-off products and Category 5 for leave-on body products.
LavenderGeraniumGinger Lily
How Absolute Oils are Made
From Fresh Flower to Precious Absolute
Harvest
Hand-picked at peak bloom — typically at dawn when aromatic compound concentration is highest
Concrete Extraction
Hydrocarbon solvent (hexane) extracts all lipid-soluble aromatic molecules, producing a semi-solid "concrete"
Alcohol Wash
Concrete is washed with ethanol which dissolves the fragrant components, leaving the wax behind
Solvent Removal
Ethanol evaporated under vacuum at low temperature — residue tested below detection threshold before release
QC & Dispatch
GC-MS verification, organoleptic panel, IFRA compliance check — then packaged with full documentation
Storage & Shelf Life

Caring for Your Precious Absolutes

Absolute oils require careful storage to preserve their complex aromatic character and active constituents. Unlike essential oils, some absolutes are semi-solid or highly viscous at room temperature.

1
Store in amber glass at 5°C–15°C
Cold storage dramatically extends absolute shelf life. Rose and Jasmine in particular benefit from refrigeration between uses.
2
Warm before use if viscous or solid
Rose and Jasmine absolutes may solidify at cooler temperatures. Warm the sealed bottle gently in a water bath at 35–40°C before pouring.
3
Keep airtight — limit headspace
Oxidation degrades top notes first. Decant into smaller containers as the main bottle empties to reduce air exposure.
4
Avoid sunlight entirely
UV radiation is particularly damaging to absolute oils. Maintain in opaque containers and dark storage areas at all times.

⚠️
Safety Guidelines — Absolute Essential Oils
Absolute oils are extremely concentrated botanical extracts with a naturally higher allergen content than steam-distilled oils. Adherence to IFRA guidelines is mandatory for any cosmetic or fragrance application.
  • Never apply undiluted directly to skin — always dilute to IFRA-recommended maximum levels for the intended product category.
  • Rose and Jasmine absolutes contain EU-listed allergens (Citronellol, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, etc.) — declare on product labels per EU Cosmetics Regulation.
  • Perform HRIPT (Human Repeat Insult Patch Testing) before launching any leave-on cosmetic product containing absolutes.
  • Solvent residue levels are tested below detection thresholds — COA confirms compliance with EU and US regulatory limits.
  • Keep stored away from children; some absolutes (especially Jasmine and Rose) may cause sensitisation with repeated exposure at high concentrations.
  • Not for internal consumption unless specifically licensed as food-grade additives under your regulatory framework.
  • Full IFRA compliance declaration, MSDS, and allergen list available on request for each absolute oil in our range.
About Absolute Oils

The Most Precious Botanical Extracts

Essential oils, compounds extracted from plants, have been in use for thousands of years for health, medicinal, and aromatic purposes. Absolute oils represent the pinnacle of botanical extraction — capturing the complete, unmodified aromatic and chemical complexity of the fresh plant material.

Unlike steam-distilled essential oils where heat can degrade or modify certain fragrant compounds, solvent extraction in absolute oil production preserves every delicate aromatic molecule — the result is a scent that is far richer, truer, and more complex than any distilled equivalent.

AG Organica is the leading manufacturer and supplier of absolute oils from India — the world's largest source of Jasmine and Rose absolutes. Our Jasmine Absolute from Sambac flowers and our Rose Absolute from Rosa Damascena are considered among the finest available globally.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything fragrance brands, cosmetic formulators, and importers need to know about ordering absolute oils from AG Organica.

What is the difference between an absolute and an essential oil?

An essential oil is produced by steam or water distillation, where heat extracts volatile aromatic compounds. An absolute is produced by solvent extraction — typically hexane followed by ethanol washing — which captures heat-sensitive and non-volatile aromatic molecules that distillation destroys. Absolutes are richer, darker, more viscous, and much more aromatic than their distilled counterparts.

Are solvent residues present in your absolute oils?

No. Our extraction and finishing process removes solvent residues below regulatory detection thresholds. Every batch is tested for hexane and ethanol residues using GC-FID analysis, and the results are documented on the Certificate of Analysis supplied with every order. Solvent residue levels comply with EU and US FDA limits for cosmetic raw materials.

What is the minimum order quantity for absolute oils?

Evaluation samples start at 5g. Standard minimum orders are 100g for most absolutes. Rose Absolute and White Lotus Absolute have a minimum of 250g due to the rarity of raw material. For established accounts and repeat orders, we accommodate quantities from 100g through to multi-kilogram commercial orders.

Do you supply IFRA compliance documents?

Yes — IFRA compliance declarations are supplied automatically with every absolute oil order. Our declarations cover all 12 IFRA product categories and are based on IFRA 51st Amendment standards. We also provide EU allergen declarations listing all 26 EU-regulated allergens present above declaration thresholds.

Can you supply pre-diluted absolutes for easier formulation?

Yes. We offer pre-diluted absolutes in Ethanol (96%) or Jojoba Oil at 5%, 10%, 20%, and 50% concentrations. Pre-diluted absolutes are easier to weigh, blend, and handle — and are supplied with IFRA declarations for the diluted product. Contact us to specify your required concentration and diluent.

How should absolute oils be used in fine fragrance?

Use pre-diluted absolutes (10% in ethanol) for ease of weighing — measure into your formula by weight. In a typical EDP (20% fragrance concentration), absolutes like Rose and Jasmine typically form 0.5–5% of the formula total. Always formulate within IFRA Category 4 limits for fine fragrance and provide allergen labelling as required by EU Cosmetics Regulation.
