History:
Myrrh is known locally as "Guggulu", ancient Ayurvedic text that prescribes Indian myrrh for easing coughs and chest complaints, and skin infections. The Parsees of northern India still use the resins in religious ceremonies: Myrrh symbolizes self-denial; Frankincense represents spirituality, and gold the wealth of humankind.
Common Uses: Indian Myrrh Essential Oil contains several flavonoids which assist in reducing inflammation and boosts the immune system. It is also reputed to be valued as a tonic and is said to have antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.
