Oleoresin is made with two components i.e. resin & volatile oil. It’s full of spice that is obtained after blending the oil with resins. Volatile oil is obtained by steam distillation or hydro distillation, resins are obtained by solvent extraction. These are used in the food & flavor industry. It provides the flavor of spice & herbs to foods. These require less storage space. They have longer shelf life, cleaner & are a substitute for ground spices. These are non-volatiles. Non-volatile substances don’t vaporize easily. These don’t evaporate in the open air. This dissolves in oils, fats & lipids.
